Back By Popular Demand

Just in time for the Holidays.

If you took advantage of Augusts deal then you know how great this is, and a lot of you did take advantage of it (thank you).  Because it was such a success I thought I would bring it back for the holidays.  Because really free money is exactly what you need this time of year.

Yes you read that right I'm giving away money this month.  I'm sure your "asking what's the catch?" and that is perfectly reasonable.   So here's all the info you could want.

First of all the e-gift card/coupon code is only good for my website.  I know you wanted it to go towards a new yacht, but I'm greedy so it all stays with me.

Second it's actually a coupon code not a real gift card so it dose expire.  You'll have till the end of February to use it so that gives you 3-4 months witch is not bad.  Plus frankly if you had it longer than that you would probably forget you had it and it would just go to waste so really I'm doing you a favor... no, no really it's all for your own good.  See I'm a caring wonderful person... honest.

Third each item you buy has to be at least $8.00 or more.  I know it would be nice to buy 3 extra-hands (witch are $3.00 each) then get a coupon code for $10, but well once again I'm greedy and I want your money.  So you need to spend at least $24 to get the $10. Still it's a really good deal, most places make you spend $100 to get $10.00 off.

If I was you I would go crazy shopping right now.  Maybe you have a lot of gifts you need to give out this year.  If that's the case I recommend "Pepole Pins" they have a lot of personalty and are just plain fun, or maybe you are looking for some new earrings to go with your holiday dress, that's cool we have lots, and if you are looking for the perfect gift for your beloved geek we have you covered.  What ever it is that makes your heart happy (jewelry wise), I hope that I can fulfill it.

Ok Lets recap: Buy 3 gifts and get a $10.00 gift for yourself.  What could be better?

New Doctor Who Inspired Earrings!

Okay I actually added these earlier this month, one of my awesome customers really wanted.  What can I say I like making people happy.

David Tennant, The 10th Doctor is one of my favorite Doctors, it's a toss up between the 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) ,The 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) , and the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) they all make me smile.

For these earrings I have incorporated 3 elements that the 10th Dr. is known for.  3D Glasses, a Sonic Screwdriver (I know they are all known for that, but I really like them), and a pair of Conveners Sneakers so he is covered from head to toe (face, hand, feet)... tea-he I really over think these things.  Anyway if you are a big 10th Fan then these are just the earrings for you.  Hope you enjoy.

Meet Jody Lynn Nye Author of the Myth series and so much more

by Amy Konecny

I am super excited to introduce you to one of my all time favorite Author's

Jody Lynn Nye

Chance (my honey-bunny) met  Jody this past year at a con and she was nice  enough to agree to do an interview with us.  Before we get to the super fun and silly interview let me tell you a little about her and her writing.

She has written over 40 books and120 short story's since 1987.  Her next books that are coming out are Wishing on a Star (Arc Manor) coming out in November, Rhythm of the Imperium (Baen) and Circle of Celebrations (WordFire Press) in December, and Myth-Fits (Ace Books) in June 2016.   She is a fun and witty writer that keeps me laughing even after I have put her books down.  If you are looking for a new author to read I really could not recommend Jody enough.

I was introduced to Jody's work when she started co-writing the Myth books in 2003.  Chance is the one that put the books in my hand and sat on my until I read them, and it was so worth the time not beading to find such a wonderful Author.   Since Chance is a better writer than I am, I'm going to let him tell you about this series.

Regarding the Myth books , what can I say beyond they are some of the warmest and funniest fantasy humor books out there? The series was begun by the incredibly talented writer Robert Lynn Asprin in 1978 and grew to over 12 books before Jody joined in the fun allowing the series to continue another 7 or 8 books until his unfortunate passing. The books ,which feature a cast of characters as diverse and unlikely as any in all of fantasy are all characters anyone can relate to and laugh along with. Starting with the unlikely heroes journey these books turn every trope of fantasy into a chorus of laughs. Skeeve and Aahz create the best kind of 'buddy cop' dynamic and the mixture of heroism, hilarity and Aahz's eternal greed make for amazing fun , and the collection of friends, followers and foes (often one in the same) are some of the most interestingly developed characters I have ever read. The series has dimensional travel, mobsters, every flavor of being you can imagine , and more laughs per page than a transcript of a Carlin concert! Do yourself a favor and just read them!   (by Chance Palmer)

Now on to the part you really want to read...

Q&A

1) What is your Favorite Color?

Ruby red. I also like amethyst purple.

2) Who is your favorite scientist, alive or dead and why?

I’m going to say Benjamin Franklin. He had an inquiring turn of mind and wasn’t afraid risk his life for the sake of science. His peers referred to him as having ‘chained the lightning,’ in his experiments with electricity. Many of his creations we still use today, as varied as bifocals and the postal system. He was a philosopher as well as an amusing and prolific writer, and often used humor to make points that might have been unpalatable otherwise.

3) Do you have a pet? If so please tell us about it and feel free to share pictures.

Jeremy is our cat. He’s a Texas Longtail, born in our friend Teresa’s house halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth. My husband went down to pick him up and fly him home when Jeremy was 13 weeks old. He was one of five kittens of a very skittish stray Teresa adopted who got out just before they were going to take her to be fixed. Jeremy inherited his mothers’ shyness, but he’s friendly and affectionate. He is also a highly trained professional bedcat who sleeps in the crook of my arm or between my feet. Jeremy enjoys fresh catnip and endless treats, and is a connoisseur of polar-fleece. We have many places set up for him around the house to watch the action going on in our yard or just to keep an eye on us. He comes in to supervise my writing, and interrupts me if he feels insufficiently petted. He’s big on belly rubs and jowl scritchings.

4) Do you prefer fresh air or air conditioned air?

Fresh, but I don’t reject air conditioned when it’s too hot and/or too humid. At the moment, all the windows are open.

5) What is one of your favorite quotes?

“We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.” Prospero, The Tempest, by William Shakespeare. (I’m also fond of “Don’t worry, John, the history books will clean it up.” Benjamin Franklin, 1776, by Sherman Edwards.)

6) If you were reincarnated as an ice cream flavor, what flavor would you be?

Dark chocolate chocolate chip, with more chocolate on the side.

7) What story does your family always tell about you?

The time in 2nd grade that my grade school principal came to test me on my reading ability. He handed me a college textbook and asked me to read to him, asking for passage after passage. I told my mother that afternoon that the principal didn’t know how to read.

8) If you were given the opportunity to have a super power, but you had to choose between Weather Control or Animal Control, witch if either would you choose and why?

Animal Control. I’d tell mosquitoes, ticks and fleas to leave town. I’d also use it to stop bullies and disband terrorist organizations.

9) What is something you learned in the last week?

The Badlands (in South Dakota) are gorgeous, but ephemeral in the greater scheme of things. They’re made up of pink and white strata of volcanic soil that is naturally eroding at a fantastic rate. Enjoy them while you can.

10) What is your favorite electronic device?

I have to go with the iPhone. Instead of a datebook, a photo album, a casual camera, a To-Do list, a book of crossword puzzles, a book, a Walkman, a movie viewer, a book of movie trivia, a pinball machine, stationery to keep up with correspondence, and a computer to check in on social media, I have one slim device that takes up little space in my purse. Oh, it also makes phone calls.

Jody Thank you so much for your time and fun answers!

If you want to Know more about Jody and her books you can head over to her website, visit her on Facebook, or keep up with her Twitter feed.

note:  This interview was supposed to post at the end of September, but for some reason my keyboard scared me and I just could not wright anything.  Sorry for the delay.

Pentacle Earrings

I know some of you are looking at these earrings and thinking to yourself  "She's a Witch.  Burn Her!" and if you changed out the W for a B it might be a true statement.  However the former would not be true.  It's just that for the longest time I have felt sad for this truly wonderful and spiritual symbol that much like the "Evil Eye" gets a bad rap.

Etymology:    The word is first recorded in English usage in 1561, from earlier French use, in turn from post-classical Latin pentaculum (from penta- "fivefold" + -culum diminutive suffix). The French word had a meaning of "talisman".

The symbol itself goes back to the time of Solomon and was considered something like a protective talisman much like the "Evil Eye" today.  I know that like anything it can be perverted to the bad, but I prefer to dwell on the good aspects of life.  So for all my customers that like to look back to the past and live in the spiritual, I have made these Pentacle Earrings.  May blessings be upon you.

Having a bit of fun... Haiku are easy

by Amy Konecny

Sorry about the lack of posts this month.  I have been suffering from a complete mental block.  So instead of doing anything that makes scene I am going to share with you one of my Favorite forms of poetry,

Haiku

A traditional Haiku consists of 3 lines and 17 syllables.

5 Syllables in the first and third line and 7 in the second.

For the above Haiku the Periods denote the end of each line.   Haiku can be beautiful and moving or just silly.  Give it a try and impress your friends.  You'll be amazed with how easy they are to come up with.

Feel free to share your haiku's with me.  I'll add them to this post...

Soot Ball Earrings

Little Round(ish) with small eyes what could they be?

Soot Balls or Soot Sprites in Spirited Away and a few others films, are some of the most adorable supporting characters from Studio Ghibli.  If you have not see it I completely recommend doing so.  Last time I checked you can even rent it out of your local Redbox... or at least my local Redbox, fun for the whole family.

All that being said it's no wonder I just had to make these earrings inspired by the precious Soot Balls.

If you are not into anime, but think they are still to cute, tell your friends their buttons.  I don't know why since they have an iris, but several people have told me that in no uncertain terms that is what they are... and frankly as long and I'm getting your money, who am I to disagree.
