Well, actually belated birthday. I realized your birthday passed like two days after it happened. But since Amy and I know that you stalk our blog, this one is for you!

Want us to mention your birthday in a semi-timely fashion? Leave us a comment to let us know your birthday and we'll give you a shout out! We only know for a fact that Dan reads our almost interesting blog that we put on here.

Today Amy and I will be opening up MetroCon here in Tampa! Be sure to check out Instagram and Facebook for all the pictures from there. If you're here at MetroCon, make sure you come by and see us at booth M7.

Next weekend we'll be back in Orlando, but instead of going for Disney or Universal, we'll be there for GeekyCon! After that, it's finally back home to NC!

That's it for now, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thursdays With Tig: Hello from Florida!

Hey there, gang! Amy and I just got into Florida yesterday and will be here for the entire month of July doing shows!

The sight that greeted us as we were approaching Amy's parents's house.

This weekend we'll at Florida SuperCon in Miami at booth #2320!

We went for a walk today around the neighborhood where Amy's parents live and it was like being in a Disney movie. These sandhill cranes were totally NOT afraid of us!

Anyway, that's all for now! Next Saturday, July 9th we'll be in Jacksonville for Time Lord Fest! Hope to see some of you this weekend or the next!

Thursdays With Tig: HeroesCon and Patreon

by Tig Pollum

Hey there gang! Sorry this is kind of a late blog entry, but I was busy setting up at HeroesCon today and my brain has borderline become pudding. You can find me in the Artist Alley this weekend at table #2101! Make sure you come by and check out the amazing new hair stakes and other goodies I'll have! Here, have a map so you'll know where to find me:

But wait, there's MORE!

We know a lot of you LOVE our ideas and what we do and are all ways giving us great suggestions and wanting us to do all the crazy ideas that we keep talking about. But we never have the time! Or more specifically, Amy doesn't have the time. Between making our own product and doing 3 or more shows a MONTH, new ideas and products often get pushed to the back burner. The solution? Patreon!

Patreon is a great website, inspired by crowdfunding, but allowing for more consistent and regular support for those creative types where a Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign just doesn't quite fit their needs. Patreon allows you to support an artist on a monthly basis instead of in just one go. Regular support like this means your favorite artist has more time to do the things that they've pushed to the back burner because they still have support coming in. Supporting us monthly means that Amy can start scaling back her weekly work load and, with enough support, begin scaling back the number of shows that she has to go to.

We have set up some fantastic rewards over on Patreon for monthly supporters, including supporting us for as low as a dollar a month. What does that dollar get you? Well, as you know, we have a LIST of funky bracelet theme ideas that we have sitting around in the works. Supporting us at a dollar or more a month means that you get to vote on what bracelet theme you'd like to see us do next AND you get to submit your ideas for what you'd like to see us do next! Think we should do a pink power ranger bracelet? Support us and you'll get to put your idea on our list and then vote! Rewards go all the way up to include a monthly jewelry box subscription as well as the ability to become an OFFICIAL AWESOME CARD carrier. Go on over there now and check it out!

That's all for now guys, hope to see you this weekend and please, consider supporting us on Patreon!

Thursdays With Tig: Holy Mackeral

It's that time again and boy have we been busy! I'm getting ready to have my last show up here in the North East this weekend at the 9th Street Italian Market Festival here in Philadelphia. Meanwhile Amy will be at Tidewater Comic Con in Artist Alley at booth #A213. As if THAT wasn't enough, Chance is also going to be at XCON in Myrtle Beach at Artist Alley booth #A13!  After that, Amy and I will BOTH be going down and seeing all of your lovely faces at MegaCon! I'll update with a booth number and floor map as soon as I can.

In the mean time, you might have seen this on Instagram, but I am still giggling over it so I'm going to share it here too. A long time ago for some school art project, I remember we had a sculpture project due and we had to do some sort of mash up. I don't remember the exact details, but I do know what I made was INCREDIBLY punny. I mean, it's BAD, and this is ME saying that.

HOLY MACKERAL!!!!!

Do you get it? It's a HOLY MACKERAL! Ha!

Anyway, that's it for now. Hope to see you soon!

Thursdays With Tig: (Re)Generation Who ReCap

Hey there, Tig again! Wowee, what a weekend it was. As you might have known, I was at (Re)Generation Who 2 in Hunt Valley, Maryland this past weekend and it was AMAZING. I didn't even really get to experience the entire convention (downsides to having to work the event) but I got to meet some really fantastic people, made new friends, and even got to reconnect with a few who I haven't seen in YEARS.

First of all, my weekend started out when I got to hang out with some of my best friends who I met a long, long time ago at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. They took me to the most amazing sushi restaurant I have been to in a long, long time. Seriously, if you live any where near Bel Air, do yourself a favor and go to Bamboo Gardens. It's a brand new place (like they'll have only been open for two or three weeks at this point) and they have hands down some of the best Asian food ever. They do Japanese and Chinese food in addition to their amazing sushi.

Dragon (the pretty ones with the avocado on top) and tuna rolls.

Lobster tempura roll, a super spicy roll that I can't remember the name of right now featuring tempura jalepeno and spicy tuna on top, and then salmon and white fish sashimi.

Their version of the classic Dynamite roll, featuring a torched scallop on top!

All that awesomeness happened even BEFORE I got to the con itself. I didn't grab too many photos like a bad monkey, but I did get some pretty awesome shots of our customers, my neighbor, and two of my favorite cosplays from the weekend.

One of our customers, who was cosplaying as a Dalek, bought our EXTERMINATE Funky Bracelet!

This guy was pretty fantastic. He later changed into a gold shirt.

This was one of my neighbor's, Tangent Artists, cosplay on Saturday. Definitely was a crowd favorite.

And these pretties were made by the best neighbor a girl could ever hope for, Jen of A Geek and Her Machine! I may or may not have been drooling over them all weekend. While these belong to me, you can find more of her incredible hand made bags over on her Facebook!

Well, that's about it for now. I have the weekend off (what's that?) and then will be in Greenville, South Carolina for SC Comic Con! Come by and see me in the Artist Alley at booth #828!

Til next time!

Thursdays with Tig: I Love You, Orlando!

Woweee, what a blast I had last week! As you may remember, I was going to Orlando, Florida to do Omni Expo this past weekend. Well, I was able to go down a few days early and visit a friend of mine who's super awesome and works for Universal Studios, so I got to go for the first time ever! Needless to say I kind of fan girl'd out...A LOT. I bought my own wand at Olivander's and had way more fun than any adult is suppose to have running around and triggering all the events that you can at the Harry Potter Wizarding World. I swear it also had nothing to do with the fact that I was also getting to drink beer specially crafted for Wizarding World, thus making my craft beer nerd and regular nerd stupidly happy.

I didn't get a ton of photos, nor did I get any while I was at Omni Expo (which if you're in the area next year I highly recommend that you check them out as an attendee), but I hope you enjoy what I did take!

The Hogwarts Express going from Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade.

Beer taps inside Hog's Head Tavern at Hogsmeade, the only place where you can get my favorite of their three exclusive beers - Hog's Head! The hog's head behind the bar was animated, by the way!

The entrance to the Jurassic Park area of Island of Adventure.

The sign over the entrance to Hogsmeade which says, "Please Respect the Spell Limits."

Anyway, stay tuned, this weekend I'm off to do two craft shows in Raleigh and then next weekend I'll be traveling up to Hunt Valley, Maryland for (Re)Generation Who! See you crazy cats next time!
